5 Desktop Sites for Small Businesses that Edit Images and Videos like a Pro
Images and videos are powerful tools for any small business looking to reach its audience effectively. As a small business owner, you likely know the importance of creating high-quality visuals to attract customers and promote your products or services. One of the best ways to do this is by using photo and video editing software on your desktop computer. In this post, we'll take a look at five media editing sites that can help take your small business to the next level.
Photoshop is widely regarded as the gold standard of photo editing software. It has everything you need to create stunning visuals for your business, from basic photo adjustments to complex composites. While it may have a bit of a learning curve, with enough practice, you can master Photoshop and create professional-grade content with your membership.
Canva is an excellent choice for small businesses that want to create eye-catching visuals but don't have much design experience. With a user-friendly interface and a wide range of customizable templates, Canva allows you to create beautiful social media graphics, blog images, and more in just a few clicks. I use it pretty much every day! Whether you want to create a new logo or design a flyer, Canva makes the process easy and affordable. Canva has both a free version and a premium plan. I use the paid plan.
PicMonkey is another great editing app for small businesses wanting to quickly create custom designs. PicMonkey is aimed at everyday photo editing and has less of a learning curve than other sites. One of the major reasons I use PicMonkey is that if I have an image that cannot be opened on other sites (for a variety of reasons), PicMonkey is the only platform that will open it, fix it, and save the image so that it can be used on other platforms. I also like to compare editing results; many times, PicMonkey did the best work. PicMonkey is a paid site with a free version, but the free version is not robust.
BeFunky is a versatile editing app that offers both photo and video editing tools. Its intuitive interface and easy-to-use features make it an excellent choice for small businesses that want to create visually stunning content without the hassle of more complicated software. BeFunky offers a range of templates, filters, and effects to choose from, so you can customize your visuals to suit your brand. You can make basic edits and touch-ups with their free version, and mostly, that's all anyone wants/needs.
Filmora is a paid video editing software designed with beginners in mind, making it easy to create high-quality videos without much prior experience. With a wide range of features, including color correction, audio editing, and special effects, it's a great choice for small businesses creating compelling videos to promote their products or services. They’ve also added AI components and royalty-free music recently.
These five editing apps offer different features and levels of complexity, but they all have one thing in common: the ability to help your small business create visually engaging content. If you like editing on the go, I’ve also shared my favorite mobile editing apps. I’m always learning about and testing new sites and will keep letting you know about them.
I hope you find a great solution for your business or non-profit in this post. A quick caveat: I try to find editing sites that are free and good, but for the most part, I find that I need certain editing options, and they are usually on paid plans. If free is your priority, I’d recommend looking into BeFunky and Canva’s free versions. Let me know if I missed any sites you love!
